Synopsis

Atlantis is a place with one of the highest incidences of sexual violence against children in the world. Fed up with constant negative media attention, the Men from Atlantis, decide to take a stand against the ugly public face of their home: one which paints them as a community of rapists, drug dealers and ‘lost’ causes. This stand takes the form of an epic, world first attempt at a 150km walk carrying a woman on a stretcher from world famous Cape Point to the forgotten Atlantis. Battling the elements and long stretches of grueling sand they hope to raise R100 000 for the House of Healing – the only refuge for abused women and children in the area. The tension mounts as the walking takes its strain on the biggest of the group, Warren. They are desperate to finish the walk together. Emotions build. Each day more funds are raised but will they reach their goal of R100 000? Will they walk into Atlantis with their heads held high? Will there efforts change anything at all?
