Synopsis

Lentswe la Baratani (The Hill of Lovers) celebrates the mysterious, legendary hill of lovers through song.  It brings to the viewer some of the many stories and mysteries surrounding the hill. The Hill of Lovers is located at Otse village (South East District) in Botswana.  The villagers revere this hill and regard it as a seat for their ancestors.  A story that is shared by the community is that a long time ago two lovers climbed the hill running away from parents who disapproved of their marriage and were never seen again.  History repeated itself in June 1981 when Motsamai Tsetse left the village claiming that his ancestors were calling him up the hill.  Search parties were sent up the hill to look for him and up to now he has never been found.
